Let the goodbye posts begin! Today is officially my last day as a Congressional Black Caucus Foundation intern and I want to take a minute to say my first thank you. When I graduated one year ago, I was lost. As a #firstgen college grad and American, I was trying to navigate a path no one in my family had embarked on before. Honesly, I had no idea what I wanted to do or what my future held. Then I met Tahir and the entire trajectory of my path changed. Tahir-- words cannot describe how much the internship you created within US Cannabis Council changed my life. I found my purpose in an industry that combines my passion for people, government and racial reconciliation in ways I never imagined. I want to publicly say thank you for being a #mentor and paving the way for young Black folks like me. Eternally grateful♥️With that being said, if anyone in the #cannabisindustry is looking for a new hire, I'm your gal! #cannabiscommunity #complianceintern #newbeginnings2022

Cheryl Kwapong it has been a true honor to work with you these past few months. You'll always be little sis. As much as I hate seeing this time come to and end I know this isn't goodbye but see you later and I know you will take the world by storm. 🙏🏿❤️🏁

It's been a while linkedin fam, but I can't let this #blackhistorymonth end without bragging on my #blackfemme led organization, The Chisholm Legacy Project: A Resource Hub for Black Frontline Climate Justice Leadership. These last 10 months have been nothing short of a dream come true thanks to the incredible staff, partners, and our fearless leader Jacqueline Patterson who truly fight for the advancement of Black folk every single day. From helping organize a #Blackbasebuilding convening in NYC to connecting with Black diaspora climate orgs at the United Nations Conference of the Parties in Duabi, TCLP has given me the freedom & guidance to grow within the #environmentaljustice space in ways I could've never imagined!! Please enjoy me speaking from my heart at a press conference during COP28 UAE alongside Indigenous Environmental Network about frontline communities & the #climatecrisis. I am so grateful❤️ #blackorganizers #enviornment #speaking #cop28 #justice

This#flashbackfridayI want to reflect on the AMAZING time I had at National Cannabis Festival's#420week!It was so inspiring to hear from organizations and U.S. representatives who spoke truth to power concerning the need to end a failed #warondrugs, federally deschdeule cannabis and release those in jail with marijuana related offenses. Shout out to the festival's founder,Caroline Phillips, for allowing me to help manage the Policy Pavillion for the second year in a row and organizing an incredible week filled with congressional forums, passionate panelists, and so much fun!#cannabiscommunity#advocacy#policy

It's been a while LinkedIn--so what have I been up to? Only working with one of the first Afro-Latina cultivators in the US! Since completing my internship with the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation in May, Tahir Johnson connected me with Christina Betancourt Johnson, and the rest is history! So grateful to work as her special assistant and learn what it means to be a #womanofcolor CEO in the #cannabis industry. Excited to grow as a mentee and see where this journey takes me! #cannabiscommunity #womeninbusiness #mentorship

The US Cannabis Council interns and I had a great time touring Anacostia Organics! Special shoutout to our wonderful "auntie" Linda Mercado Greene for showing us her beautiful dispensary. She shared insight on being a #blackwomanowned business as well as a #sociealequity advocate in a predominately white industry, and we have a lot of work to do, but I'm inspired! #cannabiscommunity #equity #interns #blackentrepreneurs

Shoutout to the home-team at Holistic Industries and their wonderful employees for hosting all the US Cannabis Council interns, and teaching us about the cultivation process. This was my first time at a grow facility and it did NOT disappoint! It was great to connect with Mr. CEO, Josh Genderson and Kevin J. and discuss opportunities to get involved in the industry. #cannabiscommunity #intern #cultivation #teachingandlearning

Starting off #blackhistorymonth right engaging in important conversation and new insight from the brilliant Black women at ACHEM about achieving justice in the cannabis industry. Thanks to Tahir Johnson at US Cannabis Council for organizing such an eye-opening panel! As Rachel Knox, MD, M.B.A. said today “All of us in the [cannabis] industry should be social justice agents.” #cannabiscommunity #restorativejustice #equity
