You definitely don't have to compromise on quality to get a bargain – particularly as Amazon has just launched its Black Friday sale.

The Fire 7, last updated in 2022, is the best budget option in Amazon's own-brand tablet range, coming in a range of different colours.

Usually priced at £64.99 for the smallest storage option, its Black Friday deal price for the ad-supported edition is £39.99 (a little higher than the Prime Big Deal Days price of £29.99 in October).

There's also a great deal on the Amazon Fire 7 kids tablet, which is reduced to £59.99. This kid-friendly device comes with extra padding and parental controls.

While the specs and the screen aren't as good as the Fire HD 10 or 8, if you're happy to make those compromises in exchange for a lower price, then it's one to think about.

For a premium experience, the Fire Max 11, launched in June 2023, is a Dolby Atmos-ready device with fingerprint recognition tech, up to 14 hours of battery life, and 8MP cameras to the front and rear for video calls.

At the time of its launch, Amazon said it was close to 50% faster than its next fastest tablet. Like the Fire HD 8 Plus, it's only available in grey.

The Fire Max 11 is on sale this Black Friday for half-price. Right now it'll only cost you £124.99 versus the full RRP of £249.99.

The Kids range of tablets comes with padding to protect the device from all those knocks and falls that are part of family life, no matter how hard you try to stop them. You can get Kids and Kids Pro versions of the Fire HD 10 and Fire 7.

The difference between Kids and Kids Pro is that Kids Pro tablets are geared towards older children, with a different design and access to request apps from a Kids digital store (which parents can approve.)

Get 45% off the Fire HD 10 Kids tablet, now only £109.99. Meanwhile, the Fire 7 Kids tablet is now only £59.99, down from £124.99.
